My teacher asked us to write radio ads for Airbnb. I did that. Then, I remembered that most people in major cities don’t own cars, much less listen to the radio.

When you stay in an Airbnb, you want to feel like you belong.
Radio advertisements are easy to tune out.
Listeners are more likely to pay attention to advertisements related to the channel their listening to.
Create advertisements that directly contrast the listener’s current environment.
Hijack local radio channels (and subway stations).
Radio Ad | English Football Rivalry
This advertisement is intended to be played on the local football radio channel, specifically during away games.
Intercom Interruption | Escape the Underground
This advertisement is intended to be played over the train intercom on the London Tube.
*Yes, there are likely strict regulations prohibiting advertisements from being played inside train cars. But, imagine how epic it would be for Airbnb to hack the intercom.
Following (or instead of) the stunt, I suggest Airbnb share playlists on Spotify and Apple Music designed to drown out the sounds of an urban commute and transport listeners to dream-worthy destinations that are accessible with Airbnb.
